American leagues publish a great deal of statistics, which shapes the markets built on them and gives forecasters plenty to work with.

Where football relies on win-draw-win, these sports offer totals, spreads and player markets instead. Ice hockey, basketball, baseball and American football lead the list; esports, kabaddi, floorball, handball, volleyball, water polo and field hockey follow.

American odds are not used in Britain, so an American price has to be translated into a fraction or decimal, and that conversion is arithmetic. Virtual events have a licence category of their own, which proves a product is licensed and says nothing of its rules.
